Events and Partnerships

2019-2023 (ongoing)- The Caley J Brown Foundation continues to support the community building efforts of The Miracle League North Bay, a safe and inclusive program for baseball players of all abilities.

2017-2019 The CJBF partnered with UC Davis and their CDKL5 research program. With generous donations, the CJB Foundation was able to gift a significant grant to the UC Davis program. We even had a chance to meet with the research team and tour the UC Davis facility this past spring. Needless to say, we were beyond impressed! Partnering with the UC Davis program means that we have a dedicated group of incredibly brilliant people actively working on therapies that may one day benefit Caley!

September 27, 2014 "SOUL for Caley" Fundraiser- Soulcycle Larkspur, CA

For about a year now, my sister Jess and I have been taking SoulCycle classes together whenever we can.  Not only does this provide sacred (and increasingly rare) sister bonding time, but offers a way to dig a little deeper, get a little stronger, and find a little more peace.  Not surprisingly, and more often than not, our inspiration to keep going and give more than we think we can is Caley - her bravery and determination continue to be nothing short of awe-inspiring to all of us.

Our connection with the amazing SoulCycle community has grown over the past year, and we were given an incredible opportunity to hold a very special ride with all proceeds benefitting the Caley J Brown Foundation.
SoulCycle granted us the privilege of inviting OUR amazing community, the people that keep hoping, praying and wishing for Caley, to join us in celebrating every gift she gives to us.  There have been so many times that we push ourselves forward with a vision of her  - maybe it’s the determination on her sweet face taking an independent step in her pacer, or the reality that we need to get stronger as she gets bigger, or just the simple appreciation that our bodies can do something that she may not be able to (although we never say never!) - it motivates us to find the same strength within ourselves.
SOUL for Caley was such a success on so many levels. Not only did we bring awareness to Caleys disorder, we gained a huge amount of love and support from our community. That support is a true inspiration for us to keep moving forward everyday- no matter what challenge lies ahead. With so much love and gratitude to Soul Cycle and all of those who participated- Thank you.
Extended thanks to the SOUL for Caley sponsors: Purevana Mill Valley, San Rafael Whole Foods, Pressed Juice, Kind Bar, Zevia, Gold Rush Tan, Sterling Vineyards and Rancho Nicasio Restaurant & Bar.

June 2012-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018
Golf Fundraising Tournament, Indian Valley Golf Course
Stock in Trade/The R Bar/ Wreck Room and Lagunitas Brewing Company

Each year Stock in Trade /R Bar / Wreck Room & Lagunitas Brewing Company hold an annual golf tournament donating all proceeds to a worthy cause. For the past five years, the Caley J Brown Foundation has been selected to be the fortunate beneficiary.  Tee time starts early at Indian Valley Golf Course and finishes with a delicious meal, exciting raffle and the opportunity for the 200 participants to meet Caley.  It has truly been a wonderful event and we are so honored to be a part of it all. Thank you to the Golf Committee, those who participated, and the sponsors, for your support and generous contributions. Proceeds to the Caley J Brown Foundation were given to the IFCR foundation to help support the ongoing CDKL5 research projects.

Rancho Nicasio celebrates 70 years!

On November 17, 2011, Rancho Nicasio celebrated 70 years with a sold out lively music show featuring the talented Elvin Bishop and Ron Thompson, Willie K, Lipbone Redding, and Ranchos own Mike Duke, Mike Schermer and Angela Strehli.  Caley was also introduced at the show and an abbreviated version of Caley's story was told by her grandpa Bob Brown. Caley grabbed the attention of many and gained new friends and fans.  As a show of support, several attendees made unexpected and very generous contributions to her foundation that night. In addition to those contributions, ticket sales for the show were matched by Rancho Nicasio and all proceeds went to the Caley J Brown Foundation which then went to IFCR to put towards funding CDKL5 research efforts.

Summer 2011-2012-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018 Caley's Sweet Shoppe!

Rancho Nicasio Restaurant & Bar is well known for their summertime BBQ's on the Lawn featuring live music, good food and sweet treats enjoyed by all! In the past summers, Meadowlark Farms (distributer for Clover Stornetta) and US Foods have all made generous contributions to the Caley J Brown Foundation by donating delicious ice cream and popcorn products!

Thank you Meadowlark Farms & US Foods!

October 2010-Pepsi Refresh Project. We did it!

In October the International Foundation for CDKL5 was in the running for the Pepsi Refresh Project grant funds for $50k to go towards CDKL5 research. The Brown family wanted to offer their support by spreading the word and recruiting the votes with friends and family as well as the Nicasio community. Rancho Nicasio Restaurant & Bar offered a special for the month of October; "Text in your Vote, get $1 off your bill". We had a huge response from all! Max and I were so touched by everyone who took the time to vote each day, 3 different ways. It was very rewarding for us in the end, not only was CDKL5 awarded the grant funds (so deserved!) but with contributed efforts we were able to raise CDKL5 awareness and gain the support of new friends everywhere!

March 2008-Fundraising can start at age 1!

Caley Brown & family hosted her 1st birthday party at Rancho Nicasio complete with Jumpy Jump, burger bar and jumbo-size cupcakes for dessert! In lieu of birthday gifts, guests had the option to donate to the Northern California Epilepsy Foundation. We raised over three thousand dollars! It was a truly amazing celebration!
